The GoBiG Introduction Meeting
April 26, 2012 – 13.15

It is with great pleasure we can now announce that everything is arranged for the GoBiG introduction meeting on the 26th of April. All details regarding the afternoon and evening will be outlined below.

Time and Place
We will meet in the room MVL15 in the Math building at Chalmers. This room is located at the bottom floor, below the glass bridge between the Math and Physics buildings (located close by the “v” in “Matematiska vetenskaper” on this map: We will meet after lunch, that is the presentations will start at 13:15.

Each participant is expected to give a presentation lasting for ten minutes. Please note that this time is supposed to include time for questions, so make sure to allow a few minutes for that. There will be both a Windows and a Mac machine present, so if you like you can just bring your presentation on a USB key. However, as you’re all into bioinformatics, I guess most of us will bring our own laptop. Please refer to the presentation schedule below to find out when you will present. If the time does not suit you, feel free to swap time slots with each other. Each hour of presentation is scheduled to also contain a short break, which should also allow for some discussion between us.

(This schedule was generated using Perl’s rand() function)

We have a table reserved at The Flying Scotsman at 18.00 for 14 persons. The restaurant has requested that we indicate what we are going to select for dinner already this week, so please take a look at the menu:
Make a selection of what you’d like to eat, and reply to your invitation e-mail Friday lunch at the latest. Note that we have not got the dinner sponsored in any way, so everyone will need to pay for their own food. The courses are described in English on the menu, though I had a hard time finding the translations myself (what’s the use of eyes anyway?)

We hope this clarifies everything until next Thursday! See you there!
