COAT – Conservation-Oriented Alignment Tool

COAT is an alignment tool that focuses on finding highly conserved residues and build the alignment based on those, to better cluster sequences by functional residues. COAT is based on and requires MAFFT. The COAT package also include COST, a conservation-oriented search tool based on the combination of BLAST and COAT.
